In addition to having the accountability factor, it helps give more direction in the morning. The checklist allows you to break down your entire morning into manageable pieces with estimated times for each task. This way, it will seem less daunting when you’re first waking up.

Fill in the time that you think it should take and the corresponding time in the morning
After filling out the tasks, move on to the time section. When choosing your time, it is important to be honest with yourself.
For example, maybe you’d like to only spend a total of 10-15 minutes getting ready, but you currently spend at least 20 minutes. Unless you have a plan in mind to speed up that process, you should plan for at least 20 minutes to get ready. This will give you the best chances of success.

Plan to use different morning routines different days of the week
If you’re anything like me, you might have different goals depending on the day of the week. Maybe you like to go to the gym Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and enjoy your coffee on the porch on Tuesday and Thursday. Instead of drinking coffee on the porch those 2 days, maybe you prefer to get some extra sleep.
Whatever it may be, you should try to have a plan in mind beforehand. Remember, there shouldn’t be any negative feelings towards a shorter morning routine. It is always a good thing to have some balance and allow yourself to slow down!

Be as consistent as possible
When starting your morning routine, don’t be too hard on yourself. Just promise yourself that you will give it a go every single day. If you plan to start this journey on Monday morning and aren’t able to follow your checklist, don’t wait until next Monday to try again. Keep giving it your best effort and eventually it will stick!
